Meet Our Therapists

BeX Kagan, MA, LPC

BeX has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) serving the Denver community for over 13 years.  As a graduate of a multicultural counseling graduate school program, she brings a vivacious spirit, calm yet fierce demeanor, and the presence of allyship to her therapeutic relationships. As a therapist and a person, BeX strives to be a little bit different as she is a very "outside of the box" as a therapist using appropriate humor and laughter, feeling big feelings together, music, song lyrics, art, and walk & talk therapy sessions with her clients.

As a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), BeX has spent over ten years of her career working in nonprofit organizations, three additional years creating and implementing mental health wellness programs that didn't exist before her arrival, and a 4-year stint in solo private practice.  BeX is artistically inclined, musically engaged, nature and social justice-loving, deeply passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion, and she believes in the deep and healing power of community.  It is no surprise to anyone who knows her well that her vocational dreams landed her at the door of Deeper Roots Family Counseling... a brand new Mental Health Collective of therapists, catering to all people in any family system.

BeX is the Senior Therapist at Deeper Roots and she brings deep empathy, "a feeling of being seen," and a very sacred, strong therapeutic alliance with her clients.  She is well known for her "compassionately direct" therapeutic style and prides herself on supporting clients in both laughing and crying within the same session. Her favorite clients to work with are: Womyn, POC/BIPOC, the "Teeny Boppers of America" (as she calls teens), all LGBTQIA+ folx, highly sensitive people (HSPs), survivors of both narcissistic abuse/divorce, religious trauma, and she loves working with other helpers: teachers, therapists, medical professionals, etc.

BeX's entire mental health career has been centered around serving marginalized communities. She offers a free 15 minute in person, video, or phone consultation for all prospective clients.
